It seemed everything was going well, so don't read too much into the situation. It could be anything, family emergency or whatever. I would just stop calling her, go on your trip and send her a postcard. Tell her you tried to contact her and you hope everything is okay, and then just tell her about the trip. I would leave it alone after that until she contacts you.
