Should SOFTBALL be reinstated as an Olympic sport in 2016?

I really don't see why they're getting rid of it in the first place; it's only been in the Olympics since 1996 which really surprises me. I thought it would've been around for much longer considering how it and baseball are so popular. They're getting rid of softball until at least 2016 allegedly because America "keeps" winning even though they did just lose to Japan and America's won the basketball gold almost every time until last year, so by that logic, they should get rid of basketball, too. I think it has more to do with lack of interest, but if they're getting rid of softball because the American women keep winning, I think they have to get rid of baseball too because there have to be the same number of sports for men and women.
