Jury duty question?

A few weeks ago I was called for jury duty and so I went. I have social anxiety disorder so it was the last place I'd want to be in. I made up an excuse that I had a babysitting job but the judge thought the excuse was not sufficient and told me come back the next day to continue as a potential juror. I DID NOT go back the next day and risk being penalized. I have done this before and nothing happened. Well, I got a letter from the court ordering me to appear and explain as to why I was a no show. My question is can a mental disorder like social anxiety disorder a good explanation and will the judge buy it?
