my father, who i last saw in 1968-69, apparently died in june of 1987. i would like to know how and if i had any other brothers and/or sisters. i found this out through social security, due to the fact that he had filed for (and received mine until the day he died) my benefits. he was 60 years old when he died and died the same year my first child was born (couple of months after). he was a horrible man who beat my mother and myself. we lived in new york at the time and left him when i was three with the help of the nypd. i pray that he did not continue to abuse other women and children, once we escaped his alcoholic wrath. possibly also could have moved to connecticut. he tried on several occions to contact my mother to help him with a settlement by apologizing to her, but she never replied. he did this by sending letters to previous ny work place who knew her whereabouts and forwarded letters. please help me find any relatives and to know of his demise in 1987 (of what means). apparently, there are people who have said it was in the newspapers. thank you. diane a. jacques (jacques.diane@yahoo.com)

What can I do for the sake of us both?

my friend began smoking pot about a year ago, and from there began smoking cigarettes. at the beginning, smoking (pot) was something that kind of helped us bond. so we both did it a fair amount - probably about once or twice a weekend. and i would take a pull of a cigarette every once in a while, but after smoking became a "habit" for us, i started to have second thoughts about it. and because singing is a hobby of mine, i began to feel some remorse. so i started to take it easy and take it into moderation, but this wasn't the case for my friend. she still smoked (pot) constantly, making it into a real habit. cigarettes, too. she is addicted to smoking, more mentally than physically, but no matter how concerned i get and no matter how hard i try to explain to her how she needs to moderate herself, she says that she doesn't care or i don't understand. is there any way i can help her before she turns into a complete burnout?

lead was in fuel to protect valves, they have since been redesigned and don't require the lead in fuel so there is no benefit, unless you are running something quite old and unmodified. the damage from leaded gas to unleaded setups was mainly to the cat converters, which most bikes don't have. if your bike is new enough to have a cat converter, your valves obviously don't need the additive.

Im a devout christian, but Ive debating with things lately. Like the whole waiting for until marriage. I notice that people I know who follow that rule end up getting married really early like early 20's and with school, I dont want to get married till im done or almost done getting my bachelor's and md or phd. What can cause chest pain?

I went to the ER with chest pain and was admitted for two days. The tests all came back normal. The EKG was fine. Cardiac enzymes were fine. X-rays and echo both showed my heart was enlarged. I do have high blood pressure that I treat with medication. They did say I had low potium levels. But should not cause pain in chest. Never found out what the cause of the chest pain was. It wasn't severe. just an achy feeling in my chest that went into my shoulder and left arm. There was no blockage or any sign that I had a heart attack. Does anyone know what could have caused this pain? Anyone experience anything similar?

We have perhaps a 1 to 3 week window of time to be proactive on the west coast of Americas, depending on when the meltdown occurs, and do not want same lack of information, false reurances, and reliance on the nuclear reactor industry that Japan is undergoing in the face of this catastrophe. Should SOFTBALL be reinstated as an Olympic sport in 2016?

I really don't see why they're getting rid of it in the first place; it's only been in the Olympics since 1996 which really surprises me. I thought it would've been around for much longer considering how it and baseball are so popular. They're getting rid of softball until at least 2016 allegedly because America "keeps" winning even though they did just lose to Japan and America's won the basketball gold almost every time until last year, so by that logic, they should get rid of basketball, too. I think it has more to do with lack of interest, but if they're getting rid of softball because the American women keep winning, I think they have to get rid of baseball too because there have to be the same number of sports for men and women. My Homemade Newtonian Telescope has a new problem.?

F3.6 is very fast. It may well be Coma error...where the fcous is only exact at the centre of field of view. So small objects may look fine but extended ones (saturn?) may be distorted..see what Jupiter shows. you will need to collimate very well, and every time you use the scope...letting it cool down for an hour or more etc etc. Also check the collimation of the collimator! These can be quite a bit off. Better to use a high power eyepiece and a bright star and adjust so the "rings" are symmetrical as you focus eather side of exact focus. You focus motion also needs to be pretty smooth as it moves and no wobble or thsi too will change the collimation, making it a function of the exact focus position. Its the pain of having such a fast scope, which is why they are not often made commercially. good luck!

I have a plumbing question?

I am installing a new shower in an area where there was none. I am building the shower up on a platform so the water will have enough pitch to flow to the sewer line. My question is what do I have to do to keep the odor of the sewer line out from the drain through the drain line to the sewer, which is one continuous run. I am familiar with the P-traps in sink application but not with this application. Also, just in case I can't get the right pitch for the drainage, what do you recommend (pump) etc.? and how do I do it?

LONG story so warning you... and complicated. I've got medical doents. Well I'll try to make a complicated and long story as short as I can. My joints pop out. Even my feet, thus I'm flat footed. I have severe knee pain, which is chronic. I haven't had a job in 3+ years and eventually had to tell them. I mean 2 hours then I had to leave... they didn't accept ER notes. This is Kings Dominion BTW! So takes me a few weeks to get in contact with anyone. To find out... now... I'm on a good dose of pain meds. I though it was low since it didn't help. So I'm in PAIN! I have back pains too, not just knee.... well since I have joint issues and it's not just knee... So they're like "Well why didn't you tell us before?" Um... they lost my medical form when I went to orientation. I had to fill out another one. And I listed all the thing I could think of then. Now it is complex but Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is the cause. So turns out I need a back to my chair and the manager claims to have said stool. I don't remember this. I remember him saying he'll excuse the absences... oh yea they also lost all but one of my ER notes. I gave one copy to food and beverage and another to first aid. Three notes in total. Anyway, I'm caught leaning on the counter because of my back. I get told total of 4 times, and written up. Here's the thing. When they told me to sit up straight, I told them I had back pains. The higher ups... even the owner of King's Dominion saw me... but all they could say was "Really? Whats wrong?" When I started to explain they just walked away. Like they didn't care. Didn't even look at my medical record... since they wrote me up for it!! So I get sent home early many hour later. I understood and was ok with it. I was going see HR about it. Now this *****, yea *****, tried to argue with me when I tried to explain I had a bad back. Now I have had no insurance so no check ups and I thought it was fixed pretty much. Simple explanation. She said **** like "Well my back hurts too" and was really being rude. REALLY RUDE! So on my way out my co workers asked what happened. I explained and they were shocked that it was for LEANING due to a medical reason. And I was like yea... Donna THE *****! It takes a lot to get me pissed off. So they said I didn't have a claim when I went to HR the next day. And Jacob, the manager of food and beverage said that he didn't have a chair with a back to it. He would have to buy it. He even said "I'M TIRED OF DOCTOR'S NOTES!" When he was asking for them... now he previously stated that he was planning on excusing my absences then in that HR meeting... he happened to be at... He stated he could only find one of my drs notes and he couldn't excuse my absences until he had more. And he also stated that he's done almost as much as he is willing to do for me... does this sound right? I mean I have medical reasons. I even have a drs note. I had to pay 160 to see that dr and they were like "Well is this a new dr? If so, we can't accept this note!" and I explained to them that I'm under a medical coverage under the VCU hospital. Everything there is free but it takes 4 weeks to 6 months or more to see dr. Unless I go to the ER, which they don't accept their notes... So sounds like I'm going to be terminated due to medical absences and they've been giving me the ring around. AND RUDE! I mean I blew up at one of them, not in their face... I was polite to them while they weren't. I've been patient and it sounds like I'm going to get on disability soon anyhow. But I'm pissed at how they treated me! Any thoughts? Any tips? I mean I'm tolerant to pain, if most people had what I have they would be crawling. I've found out recently that 6 pills of lortab is a lot... it gets rid of more like 75% of my pain. 6 pills... which lasts 3 hours! 7.5-500 hydrocodone/apap is the generic. I took two that Saturday and I'm still hurting 3 weeks later... I told them this and they pretty much asked me to hurt myself to work for them. And they really did demand it. I'm on medical leave ATM. Or so I was told... They gave me until Monday, it's Sunday. Monday as of right after the 4th to get the MRI results of my knee, so Monday the 5th I think it was. I called twice and had to leave a message. No clue if they got it... and went up there... but guess what? They, Human Resources, was off that day... It was a Thursday when I was able to make it up there, about a 40-50 min drive. AT LEAST! SO I'm going back to talk to them Monday... the 12th. I couldn't go the 9th due to a hearing for disability. Which, as I kind of hinted earlier, went well. I've got severe leg and back pain plus ADHD. If I have enough Adderall XR, I can keep my cool. Well so the problem or maybe advantage I am facing right now for last few years is kind of lonelyness. I am 17 yo and never had a girl friend or even a first kiss I would say it's because I am really really shy. My life story is long but let's just say: I was born in Ukraine. Then when was 1 years old father left, me and mother moved to Latvia. Lived there 14 bad unhappy years, suffered a lot there. And then 3 years ago moved to Ireland where life went to the bright side. So I am living Ireland for 3 years now and so far I love it. I am going to school etc.. So I have seen a lot in my life so far. But while it seems to be good because I live in Ireland I kind of feel bad without still having a girlfriend. My sister had endo at 23 and ended having to have a full hysterectomy (sp). Here's my background: I am 27 and married, we have 4 kids- 7,5,2,19 months. Well starting last July I have vertigo which seems to be worse when I am menstrating. I had a period last Aug, then not another one until the first week in Dec. It was very dark and heavy and my vertigo was really bad, could barely stand. Then I ended up having another period just a week after ending that one. Didn't have another period til Feb. Then starting on march 17th had just a brown discharge for about 5 days and it was heavy enough for a pad. Then a lil over two weeks ago, had some brown discharge (again enough for a pad not a liner) after a couple of days it got real heavy and dark brown, then was mixed brown and red now heavy red and I'm still pretty heavy. It's been around 15-17 that I have been having this "period". Does anyone know what could be causing this. Just trying to get ideas before going to the gyno cause my husband's insurance through work is very very expensive so we're self pay until we find our own insurance. sorry this was long. Have been trying to find out what this movie i saw as a kid was called. I remember very little but from what I recall I believe it was a sci fi film possibly from the 70s or 80s (definately in colour) in which something gets into the water supply of a small desert town and strange happenings begin to occur. I'm stuck with a spare tire (donut), what should I do?

On my way to work this afternoon I got a flat and I only had a donut to drive on. I just got 4 brand new tires in November and they have an 80,000 mile warranty on them but I'm petrified they won't take my tire back and even if they do, it's going to be a while because I got them on the internet. My bf told me he drove 80mph on the donut when he had that car and had to use it to get home from school once. I just read an article about a man, last name Suter, who raced poodles. A little bit before that I read a question that said herding dogs would not work as sled dogs because they have to look at their owner to understand the commands that they are being given. But I was wondering if, for a recreational team, a border collie could run with huskies. I was also wondering if a St. Bernard would stand a chance, or if because of their size and shortish muzzles if it would be too hard on them to run with other dogs, and if they would be better off as a house pet. My advice is to be honest with the Dr's and hospital and they will manage your pain appropriately. If you dont tell them what you have been taking and the amounts they cant judge the correct amount. Having had this op after 4 c sections I can say that the hospital staff do their very best to ensure you are quite comfortable.

Well using what u know u can say that the number of crates of melons plus apples equals 48. You can also say that 2o dollar melons plus 8 dollar apples equals the total cost of 420. So u know two equations m+a=48 and 20m+ 8a=420 solve for one and then plug it into the other equation to get a value for how many crates of apples or melons were sold.... Hope that helps

Since may 31st of 2007, I've been getting heartburn...everyday. At first it was just a slight burning. Microsoft Access Can't Find the Database File?

I am on the verge of a meltdown and would appreciate some help! I created an Access database for my department in November, and I have had no problems with it. I was on vacation last week and received a call that no one could get into the database (they weren't being prompted for a pword or anything). I asked if the Lockfile9 was present, and I was told that it was. I umed that when I got back I could delete the Lockfile9 and compact and repair the database. However, I just tried to get into the database, and the Lockfile9 is no longer there. When I click on the shortcut for the database, I am being told that Microsoft Access can't even find the database. IT has already been contacted, and they don't know what to do either. I have some minor roof repair to do, and I do not want to buy and entire roll of tar paper/felt for under the shingles. Is there a substitute? Can I just spread plastic or rubberized roof sealant on the wood or use a plastic sheet etc.? It's not that it's all that expensive, but I would only be using about 2 linear feet at the most, and I'd hate to waste the rest.

Question about codecs and youtube?

Ok..so here's the dilemma. I uploaded a video, a .mod file I believe, onto my desktop computer (dell). I played it on windows media player, but there was no sound. at first it wmp said "acquiring codec...codec acquired." but it still had no sound. I checked other videos on this computer and they're all like that. But, I don't have this problem on my laptop [which unfortunately i don't have access to today]. So, if I want to upload this video to youtube, will it come out with no sound on youtube, too? Or is that just my computer's problem, and on youtube the video will have sound?

Because it is better to "kill" the puppies before they are born,as chances are,many of those puppies will end up in a shelter,only to be euthanized anyway.And when they are in the womb,they just lose consciousness when the mother dog is spayed,and they then suffocate when the uterus is removed. Why can't I download the detection program software?

Last week I asked this questions while trying to download the newest version of yahoo messenger. yahoo sent me a link in order to help me to download messenger and it worked. Still concerned over when to give baby cereal?

Our dr told us to give our son (now 4 in half months) rice cereal in his bottle when he was 5 weeks old (due to his acid reflux, it really did help) the dr told us when he shows signs of wanting to eat off of a spoon to go ahead and try it that way. We tried it when he was 4 months old (rice cereal off of a spoon) and he took to it immediately. So we asked the dr when we could try him on Gerber 1st baby foods and she said anytime just to wait 3-4 days inbetween to see if he has any allergies. He is doing great with the Gerber 1st foods. The Pediatric ociation can give you a "guideline" on when you should feed your baby cereal but thats all it is... a guideline. All babies grow and progress at different rates and times, my son took well at 4 months eating from a spoon and so far he has done amazingly with the Gerber 1st foods too and they done recommend those until 6 months. My son was 8lbs 7 oz when he was born and he is a little over 17 right now, and giving him the cereal and the gerber food hasnt made him overweight, right now for his height and weight he is in the 75th precentile which the dr said was good. You can go by what the American Pediatric ociation says about when to feed your baby the cereal, but if she is ready I dont see why you couldnt do it now. Especially since she seems ready. Like I said its just a guideline about when most babies are ready to eat cereal, but all babies are different. Some babies wont even attempt to eat off of a spoon until they are 7-8 months and thats ok for that baby! It sounds like she is ready to me and our son has had no ill effects from feeding him off of a spoon or starting cereal earlier than recommended. I am a first time mom so I was weary of doing it, but its been the best thing for my son and its good to seem him progress so well. The dr has told us he is doing perfectly and like I said he is doing the Gerber 1st foods now and loving it. Hope this helps!

Why does my english mastiff stink so bad even after his bath? His skin and coat are beautiful and thick.?

He is 19 months old and approximately 160 pounds. He stays in the house all the time except when going out to potty on supervised walks. His skin and coat are beautiful, shiny and thick. His folds under his arms and legs are clean and show no irritation. He eats Science Diet Sensitive Skin formula and very little table food. He has regular checkups with the vet, etc. He just stinks!!! He smelled like this when we got him from his breeder, but we thought the smell would go away. Even hours after a bath (with gentle oatmeal shampoo) you can smell him when he walks by. He is to the point of making the house stink. Is this something that is common in mastiffs? My pitbull/dane is treated the same way and he never smells at all, even after playing outside. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mom is having extreme nightmares?

Ok so my mom used to have nightmares almost evry night. She would scream while asleep and i would come running to wake her up.
